Erica Poonam has qualifications in acting from the Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras as well as in the Taoist Zi Wei Dou Shu Chinese Astrology from the Sociedade Taoista do Brasil (the Taoist Society of Brazil), under the orientation of Master Wu Chy Cherng. After his retreat to Taiwan in 2002, Master Cherng officially orientated her so that she could divulge this knowledge professionally without further ado, which she has since been doing. After the passing Master Cherng this teaching continues to be transmitted today through consultations, courses and workshops led by Erica in many Brazilian cities and more recently, Portugal. 

She has been facilitating group works and individual therapeutic sessions for almost 12 years. She was a member of the Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way school and learnt the Enneagram technique, and has since been perfecting her work associating art with Oriental wisdom.
She acted at the Estácio de Sá and Castelo Branco universities as well as Unesco in a theatre for senior citizens (project “Arte sem idade” (Ageless Art)).

She is currently completing her training in SE (Somatic Experiencing), a natural approach to resolving trauma, developed by Peter Levine, and works as a teacher and individual and business consultant at a variety of places and businesses, amongst them: TV Ponta Negra/SBT (Natal), Euro Data Informática (São Paulo), Lumine Projetos (Rio Grande do Sul), in Brazil.
