The structure of Polar Astrology is based on social concepts. Zi Wei Dou Shu is an astrology which emphasises sociability, as this is the essential force of the human being. What characterises the human being as different to other animals is its accentuated self-identification through social acceptance and position.


The Life Palace, also known as House of Life, carries our main personality characteristics. It may reveal typology, capabilities, possibilities and category. Category here meaning the degree of development, character and temperament. In relationships, the temperament transforms into class. Class can be interpreted as the way we behave in relation to the world and people, if in a refined or less courteous manner. In this palace, it also possible to see the tendencies of a career, reveal family ties and our tendencies and directions in life. In summary, a person’s destiny is influenced by their personality, class, category, profession, relationship with their family, direction and possible emotional, mental and physical reactions.

The Siblings Palace may reveal the relation and feelings towards siblings and people of the same age.

The Marriage Palace indicates tendencies in romantic relationships, marriage, courtship, and even the personality that is sought in a partner. It may also reveal if the marriage will take place early or later on in life, if there will be more than one marriage, or lovers.

The Children Palace reveals loving relationships with children. For women, it states the number of children they will have and if there will be any difficulties at birth. It may also indicate the tendency of the child’s social success or expectations associated to him/her. In the case of teachers, it can refer to their students or disciples.

The Wealth Palace indicates financial gain tendencies. It shows our financial potential and ways of making money, be it through a stable career or through unexpected opportunities. It highlights the best moments for us to make financial investments and buy or sell property (which is best analysed in conjunction with the Property Palace).

The Health Palace shows the types of illnesses that are likely to occur, be they hereditary, contagious or seasonal. It highlights our weaker organs, signs of accidents, dangers, the best treatments or therapies for the individual.

The Travel Palace deals with the ability to adapt to changes. It indicates changes in life, professional environments and actual journeys.

The Friends/Servants Palace was known in the past as the House of the Subordinates, or the House of the Servants, thus it brings forward the idea of solidarity and aid received from others in order to materialise projects. This suggests that those whom we call friends represent some usefulness. This palace also refers to the quality of relationships with aides and friends.

The Career Palace speaks of our career tendencies, our effortlessness and/or difficulty within them and our career direction. It indicates our potential to undertake an autonomous position, to be an employer or employee, be it of the state or of a large, medium or small business.

The Property Palace shows the possibility of buying real estate. It speaks of inheritance, inherited family businesses, personal environment, childhood environment, the type of places we choose to live in, as well as the way of preserving and maintaining this environment.

The full name of the Fortune Palace is the House of Fortune and Virtue. This palace speaks about a person’s spiritual and material pleasures, their satisfaction and taste for things. It shows their introvert and extrovert tendencies, their way of thinking, what brings real happiness and karmic legacy.

Aside from the 12 houses mentioned above there is a 13th house which is special, an extra house called the Body Palace. Within the calculating mechanism it does not have its own address and always shares its place in one of the other sectors. Its reading should be done in conjunction with the qualities of the palace where it can be found.

The Body Palace highlights the tendency of our post-natal struggle, the direction and prospects of personal endeavours in modifying our own destiny. It also indicates the degree of desire and need to consume in the material world. Generally speaking, the body indicates the tendency of material development and the form in which the individual expresses his/her potentials and essence, as well as his/her destiny. It also refers to the actual physical body. The Body Palace has a strong relationship with free-will, connected to knowledge. The more you know, the greater the possibilities of choice.
